If I have to sum up the year 2016 in just one word, I will choose the word ‘SURPRISE’ for it. There were a lot of positives with few negatives that happened in the year 2016. So let us start the highlights.
1. India’s Surgical Strike On Terror Camps In Pakistan.
Perhaps the best and emotional moment for all of us when we read and heard about this news. This surgical strike avenged the deaths of our protectors who were stabbed from behind by those terrorists across the border.
2. The launch of Jio Sim that shook the entire Telecom Industry.
It was the announcement that made Indians stand in a queue (which we hardly do). Mukesh Ambani’s Jio Plan of free sim cards with free unlimited 4G data was one of the best gifts that we Indians received in the year 2016.
3. Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s amazing sprint to run-out Mustafizur Rahman in T20 World Cup 2016.
The time when our hearts skipped the beat. The time when the whole nation prayed together for that run-out. And the moment when we all jumped into the air out of joy. That was perhaps the most joyful moment that we Indians came across in 2016.
4. India’s daughters shining in Rio Olympics.
The time when everyone in our country sat together and watched our daughters and sisters bringing glory to our country by winning medals.
5. When the world got crazy about Pokemon Go.
The game went viral in time and scooped almost every 2nd person from our friend list.
6. Leonardo Di Caprio Finally receiving Oscars.
The much awaited moment in his as well as the fans all around the globe. He received the Oscar Award for his amazing acting in the movie REVENANT.
7. Demonization – No suggestions to that
Well, people all across the country were stunned to the core when they heard about this news. Within a night, the whole country rose to anxiety with different reactions. Some people praised, while some people criticized.
8. Donald Trump doing the impossible.
When the whole world was busy in trolling him, he wrote his own destiny (God knows how). His controversial statements didn’t hinder his successful attempt to win the US Elections 2016.
9. The ‘CHAIWALA’ that stormed the Internet.
A simple ‘chaiwala’ from Pakistan became an overnight sensation when his perfectly timed photograph went viral on the Internet. He, later on, bagged many modeling contracts and even signed up a shoot for a video song.
10. The ‘Sonam Gupta’ that turned out to be a ‘BEWAFA’.
People have a bad as well as a weird habit to write on currency notes. One such writing went viral when a 10 Rupee note had these words written on it – Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai. Even today nobody knows its origin.
11. Amma’s Death – RIP
The death of Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa is surely one of the saddest moment in 2016. Thousands of people gathered in during her cremation ceremony.
12. Prisma Effect – WTF ?
A strange habit of turning yourself into a cartoon developed into the minds of people which eventually went viral and every other picture on our news feed came along with it.
13. Hero Alom – That guy just gave millions of boys some real motivation.
His dancing moves and epic romantic scenes with beautiful actresses can shame any actor and a human being as well. Jokes apart, he is indeed a serious source of motivation for all single guys in this world.
14. Our love for Disha Patani
Her cute smile and the innocence in her eyes were the only driving force for millions of guys to fall in love with her.
15. RVCJ becoming a family of 10 Million members.
