Needless to say, the decision of demonetization by Modi Govt. has affected many of us but the most affected are the tourists from different countries as the Indian currency that they were carrying was just a piece of paper after midnight of November 8. The same happened with the tourists at Rajasthan’s Pushkar and sadly, they didn’t even have money to book their return tickets to Delhi.
To arrange for their return tickets, they decided to perform shows on the streets of Pushkar. On Saturday, two groups of foreign tourists belonging to France, Germany and Australia performed near the Gau Ghat crossing and popular Brahma Temple.
An Australian traveler, Jayden told,
“We came here on November 8 to see the famous Pushkar fair. The same night government of India announced demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 banknotes. Whatever change we had in Rs100 and lower denominations are exhausted.”
They were holding placards which read “You can help us” and “Money problem”. To collect money, they played music instruments and performed acrobats.

Adlrik, a German traveler, told HT,
“Locals have been kind to us. So far we have collected around Rs 2600.”
Jayden further added,
“As a last resort, we took recourse to performing on the streets to get some help from locals so that we can at least reach Delhi to seek help from our embassies.”
The nearest ATM was out of money and nobody was ready to exchange Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes.
