Traffic Police Charging Fine To A Lady Driver Based On A WhatsApp Msg! Is It Scam Or Digital India? - RVCJ Media

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative has made our country digitally advanced. With the e-challan initiative, it has become hard for the traffic police to take bribes from the common people.

This is the reason why some corrupt officials have found another means to easy money. The ways chosen by these officials are illegal and unethical.

First, she did not really believe. She asked for evidence and valid proof. The senior officer present at the location showed her car’s number on his WhatsApp. He said that she had cut a lane 25 km before. There was no other proof other than the WhatsApp message. No CCTV footage or even a photo that can be considered as an acceptable evidence.

Chandni was a little skeptical. Around 6 policemen surrounded her and kept shouting at her, insisting her to pay the fine. Her family also intervened and asked the officials for proper proof. When the policemen realized that she will not pay the fine or anything, they allowed her to go. However, they warned her sternly – ‘We will send notice and now you see what we do!”

Here’s what she had to say

Guys traveling to lonvala and further beware!!
I was traveling to pune with my family and after paying the toll at khalapur , a traffic cop stopped us and said pay fine for lane cutting. We were quizzed and asked them when did we cut the lane, cop was like talk to our Saab.. The so called Saab comes with a smart phone with what’s app opened and shows us our car number saying u have cut the lane 25 Kms before the toll!! We were ok to pay the fine but we asked for evidence, camera footage, time and exact place he kept saying come on side and let’s talk.. we did not budge and kept standing there asking for it But when they realized we were not budging and kept asking for evidence, the Saab showed us a Whats app message again in which our car number was written and that’s it.. just series of car number and no picture nothing…suddenly 5-6 cops surrounded us and starting yelling you have to give ur license or we will take action and send notice..we kept arguing on showing us the proof but they kept telling us come on side.. when asked what kind of rule is this and show us when is this passed.. they still kept telling us come on side.. they finally let us go by telling us you go and we will send notice and now you see what we do!!!
We are law abiding citizen and ready to pay fine, if done and evidence provided
Guys don’t fall for this money making trap.. fight for it!!
What’s the point of making india digitized and changing currency notes if corruption is still going on like this @pmoindia #narendramodi #trafficpolice #police #mumbaipolice #khalapurpolicestation
Please share this and let as many as people know about it!!

She shared her entire experience on a Facebook post that became viral. There were many comments on her post, some comments of the users revealed that such incidents have happened even before at the same toll booth. If the comments are true, then this unethical practice should be stopped right away. People already have to pay toll charges while traveling. Against this, no traveler should encourage or fall prey to such illegal practices.
