Our dearest Baadshah of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan has invited trouble calls for himself. This is not with regards to any new controversy but, due to not observing certain rules and regulations.
You read that right. This is due to the illegal construction of a ramp adjacent to King Khan’s mansion ‘Mannat’ in Bandra.
An NGO has alleged that it is violating the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ)-2 norms. The ‘Watchdog Foundation’ had raised a complaint in order to investigate the violation CRZ-2 by this construction. Following this, orders were issued dated 8th August for a complete investigation. The reports of the same were expected to be submitted within a month, but the results are still awaited.
Trustee of Watchdog Foundation, Godfrey Pimenta told Mid-Day that,
“The construction of ramp was a breach of lease condition set by the state government under which the plot was given to Khan, back in 2006. Considering the violations of CRZ notification 1991 and 2011, civic body had served a demolition notice to Khan.”
He further added,
“The H west ward office was supposed to submit its investigation in first week of September. It’s more than month, but the report has not been submitted. When we filed an RTI to find out about the civic body’s investigation report, the collector’s office replied saying they are yet to receive the report from the ward office.”
The NGO has demanded termination of the lease of the plot on which Khan’s bungalow is standing as well of other such plots that have violated lease norms. However, the ramp was demolished by the BMC last year in February as a result of a complaint raised by local BJP MP Poonam Mahajan. Khan was also made to pay a bill of Rs.1.93 lakhs to recover the cost.
