The new show of Kapil Sharma, the king of comedy is quite victorious in the battle of ratings between Sony TV and Colors, the 2 rival channels in the entertainment segment.

After Comedy Nights With Kapil was shut down on Colors after tiff with producers, Kapil made a comeback on Sony TV with his new show ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ from the 23rd of April.
Colors had made an attempt for spoiling the rating of the Kapil Sharma Show by airing ‘Bajirao Mastani’ the blockbuster movie of 2015 at 9pm on the same day.
For killing this competition, the 1st hour of the movie was aired without any break, thus compromising too much on the revenue.
Who wins the race?
BARC or the Broadcast Audience Research Council has released the ratings and you would be happy that Kapil has come first.
‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ got 3 rating points, while Bajirao Mastani fell behind at 2.8. Usually 3 points is a good option talking when it comes to entertainment channel segment. However, shows like ‘Naagin’ is always an extension as it has grabbed 5 points.
There is a minimal margin between both the shows but looking at the bigger picture, Sony got lot of benefits by roping in Kapil Sharma.

As of now, the average rating of shows on Sony is 1. Sometimes, shows manage to get 1.5 but it is very rare. But with Kapil Sharma’s new show, it has reached 5. Moreover, it is considered to be among the top 5 shows on TV within 1st week of launch. Besides Kapil Sharma’s show is sweeter because it has an upper hand in the race over Sony Tv.
