The social media networks have become an integral part of our lives and the messaging platforms have undoubtedly made it easier for all of us to keep in touch and that too at a very low cost. WhatsApp can easily be called one of the most popular and most used messaging platforms and it won’t be wrong to say that it is difficult now to imagine our lives without these apps.
However last night something happened which brought an earthquake in the lives of the users of messaging platforms. Last night, at around 10:55 PM, social networking site Facebook, photo sharing platform Instagram and messaging platform WhatsApp stopped working at the same time. This happened not just in India but in some other parts of the world as well and many users were not able to make any post or send messages from their apps because of this outage. Nobody knew what happened as it was no less than a nightmare for a number of people. Many individuals started visiting the micro-blogging site Twitter in order to find out as to what happened with WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook.
Though the reason behind this outage is not known, the services of these social media networks got restored after 45 minutes and WhatsApp posted this message on Twitter through its official handle, “Thanks for your patience, that was a long 45 minutes but we are back! #WhatsAppDown”

Instagram also tweeted, “Some people were having issues with their Instagram accounts earlier, but we’re back now. The issue’s been fixed and we’re sorry for the trouble. #instagramdown”.
