60-yr Vijay Mallya’s resignation from chairman post of United Spirits Ltd has taken the web and social media to storm. Now he’ll be USL’s ‘founder emeritus’ and ‘Chief Mentor’ of Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL. As maintained by him in a statement, “Having recently turned 60, I have decided to spend more time in England, closer to my children. The time has now come for me to move on…I am resigning my position with immediate effect.”
This is what he stated while making an announcement of his resignation, “The time has now come for me to move on and end all the publicized allegations and uncertainties about my relationship with Diageo and USL.” “I am pleased to have been able to agree terms with Diageo and USL. The agreement we have reached secures my family legacy,” Mallya added. According to Diageo, Founder Emeritus does not hold any right, power, profit or responsibility in the company.
