Twitter Stormed Under #GhotalebazBasanti After Hema Malini Got 40 Crore Land In 70,000

A lot was said and talked when the government allotted a land in Andheri to the actress and BJP MP Hema Malini for the purpose of opening a dance academy but what an RTI has revealed now will definitely lead to a big controversy. It has been disclosed through an RTI that 2,000 square meter plot, worth of which is minimum Rs. 40 crore has been given to the actress for just Rs. 70,000.

Another plot was allotted to her in 1997 which she was not able to use for the reason that it came under CRZ but she has not yet given it back to govt.

The RTI was filed by an activist Anil Galgali and was addressed to Mumbai suburban collector asking for details of the land that has been given to the actress turned politician in addition to the communication which took place in this regard.

Galgali asked for justification, “First of all the government hands over a prime plot at dirt cheap rates to an organization run by a party MP, which it self is questionable. Secondly the earlier plot of land given to Hema should have been taken back before handing over this plot of land. Maharashtra is not a cash rich state, we have farmers committing suicides and have a debt burden of Rs 3, lakh crore. How is it public interest giving land to her at such rates.”

The documents of RTI have also revealed that Mumbai Suburban collector has asked the actress to return the old plot. Besides, he has also posed some conditions which has to be fulfilled by her before handing over her the new plot.

The letter written to Hema Malini by the collector says that as she talked about making a dance academy costing Rs. 18.5 crore. She has to give details of 25% of project cost to the govt before land gets allotted to her; however, the actress has given proof of only Rs. 3.5 crore which doesn’t fulfill the norms.

‘Natyavihar Kala Kendra’, Hema Malini’s organization, has told the government that the rest of the project cost will be arranged through the banks but this answer doesn’t satisfy Mumbai Suburban Collector and he has inquired about how she will arrange the remaining amount. Hema Malini has been given time of two months for furnishing these details in order to get the land.
