Next 4 matches are very crucial;
19th May 4 PM – RR vs RCB
19th May 8 PM – SRH vs KKR
20th May 4 PM – MI vs DD
20th May 8 PM – CSK vs KXIP
5 teams (KKR, MI, RCB, RR, KXIP) are fighting for 2 positions. KKR is the only team that doesn’t depend on the results of other matches, but for all other teams there are lot of permutations and combinations going on.
If RCB & MI win, then KXIP will be out of race because of poor run-rate. If RCB, MI & KKR lose then KXIP will have slight chance to qualify.
If RCB wins & MI loses then RCB will surely qualify irrespective of other results. There are lot of permutations and combinations that are going on and everyone is well aware of them.
Cricket Informer’s Twitter handle did a poll between 4 teams and asked users who do they think will definitely qualify for play-offs and we’re not much surprised with the results as KKR emerged as winner with 37% votes. Here’s the result;

This is obviously clear because KKR is the only team which is not dependent on results of other matches. If they win then they will qualify and they might even reach position 2 if CSK loses from KXIP with larger margin.
So Twitter thinks KKR will surely qualify.
RCB got 2nd highest votes i.e. 33%. Obviously RCB also have very high chances to qualify if they beat RR with very large margin or MI loses their match against DD.
MI got 3rd with 26% votes as MI has higher run rate then RCB and they will play their match after RCB so they will know what target to chase and in how many overs in order to have higher run rate than RCB. MI have an edge here because they will be playing their match after RCB and KKR.
RR just got 4% votes as fans think RR will easily lose to RCB or even if they win then they have lesser chances because of poor run rate as compared to MI.
