Tyre Killers In Pune Are Removed Now. Is It Good Or Bad?

Couple of days back, we had reported about tyre killers being installed in a private township in Pune. Yes, Amanora Park Town had taken a brilliant step towards controlling traffic violators.

These tyre killers had sharp spikes which burst tyres of vehicles coming from the wrong side. However, they had to be removed after police served them with a legal notice.

Well, those tyre killers were installed unofficially on public roads i.e. the township hadn’t taken permission from the government.

JD Kalaskar, a traffic police inspector said that the spikes were very risky and could prove to be fatal too.

He said,

“The spikes are very sharp and can turn fatal if someone falls there.Especially with the school around, the risk is severe. They had not sought permission for any such installation. Even though it has been put up inside the township, the road is being used by the masses and we have to ensure their safety.”

A legal notice was sent to the management & they immediately agreed to remove the killers. The management expressed a different point of view. They said that the area is highly prone to accidents due to wrong side driving.

Since there’s a school nearby, they had installed the tyre killers for safety purpose. The management of the township also said that when spikes were installed, there was a good control over wrong side driving menace.

No doubt, tyre killers are a smart solution to tackle these problems, but considering their fatality, it was better to remove them.
