UP Govt Impressed With Mohammed Shami’s Stunning Form, To Build A Mini Stadium & Gym In His Village

A great initiative to promote the young talent of the region

Mohammed Shami, the senior Indian pacer can easily be called the most dangerous bowler of the ongoing ICC ODI World Cup 2023 as he is the highest wicket taker (23 wickets) of the tournament but what makes him stand apart from others is the fact that he has played only 6 matches in the WC2023.

In the first four matches, Mohammed Shami was not a part of India’s playing eleven as Hardik Pandya’s presence provided the option of having an extra bowler in the team but after Hardik got injured in the match against Bangladesh, Shami was included in the team and it was certainly one of the best things that happened for team India.

In the semi-finals against New Zealand, when things were going in the favor of the Kiwis, it was Mohammed Shami who gave important breakthrough and ended the match with the career best figures of 7/57.

Mohammed Shami basically belongs to Uttar Pradesh and in order to promote the young talent of the area, the government of Uttar Pradesh has taken a big decision of setting up a mini-stadium and open gym in Shami’s village which is Sahaspur Alinagar.

Rajesh Tyagi, the District Magistrate of Amroha, stated that a proposal has been made in this regard and a team also visited the village to search for land for this purpose.

This is certainly a great move by Yogi Adityanath-led UP government as it will not only promote young talent but also develop the sports culture in the country and it will be a good example for other states as well.
