This year opened big with the Bollywood film Uri: The Surgical Strike directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Mohit Raina, Kirti Kulhari and Paresh Rawal.
After a huge success among the masses and the critics alike, Uri made a stupendous box office collection as well. After fifteen days itself the film earned a massive 138.19 crore, making into the 100 crore club.
Even with the actual budget of the film, Vicky Kaushal’s Uri manage to go past films like Stree, Raazi and even Badhaai Ho.
Now, what is striking enough is that Uri surpassed massive hits like Padmaavat, Simmba and even Sanju. If you compare the collections of the third week of all these films, then Uri is far ahead.
According to box office reports, Uri has performed better than these films in its 3rd week. In week 3, Uri made more than 35 crores whereas Sanju made 31 crores approx, Padmaavat made 31.75 crores approx and Simmba made roughly 20 crores.
Uri:The Surgical Strike just declined by 12.22 percent from its previous weeks, which again shows how it eclipsed those giant hits of the previous year.
This film based on the surgical strikes of 2016, carried on by our Indian army against Pakistan’s terror platforms, earned not only appreciation and awe, but proved to break the records as well.
