Vasanth Paul never expected that ‘Kabali’ would bring him such a bad day. However, this incident definitely gave a chance of being a real life hero. What Vasanth did is commendable and worth an applaud. Being a crazy fan of Rajnikanth, Vasanth Paul, a photographer cum model saved a girl from clutches of gang-rape.
What happened was that Vasanth, the resident of Alandur, Chennai was returning home after watching 1st day 1st show of ‘Kabali’ and he would have never imagined in the wildest of his dreams that this would happen. Since there was heavy traffic on airport road, he preferred driving through an isolated road.
After he drove for sometime he stopped and few minutes later, he heard mourning sounds coming from those open fields. Initially, Vasanth mistook it as being the sound of a stray animal, but when he heard a woman shouting for help, he immediately rushed for helping her. He even shouted to passersby for help.
When he reached the spot, he was shocked to see 3 men attempting to undress a fully drugged girl. While Vasanth tried freeing the woman, one person punched him and another person tried strangling him with jute rope. He had some deep and painful cuts due to that. However, amidst all this, a rickshaw driver stopped and did his best to help them. The rickshaw driver beat those men real bad, after which they fled.
Due to all this commotion, the woman could easily run away from that spot. Vasanth tried finding police officials in the area but he couldn’t find any. On the request of the girl, no police complaint was filed. He posted the pictures of his deep wounds in a Facebook post; have a look!
Vasanth says that one must not get frightened even when he is alone. Little bit of bravery and smartness would definitely help in such situations.
