Virat Kohli, the Indian cricketer is certainly one of the greatest of all times and recently he became the first batter in the history of cricket to make half-century of centuries in ODI cricket after he scored a century in the first semi-final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 which India played and won against New Zealand.
Virat Kohli has also broken the record of scoring the maximum runs in a single edition of the World Cup as he has scored 711 runs in the 10 matches which he has played in the WC 2023.
Many times we have seen Virat Kohli getting compared with his contemporaries such as Steve Smith, Joe Root and Kane Williamson but in the present times, Virat Kohli has left all of them far behind.
The former Aussie cricketer Ian Chappell gave an interview recently in which he talked about both Virat and Steve Smith. He said that there was a time when Virat Kohli used to average more than 50 in all the formats which is remarkable performance. He adds that he feels Virat is the best batter of the present era and he likes his attitude as well.
Ian Chappell further added that he heard an interview of Virat Kohli in which he talked about his batting and he has a wonderful approach towards his batting. Ian Chappell also praised Kohli for his fitness and said that despite being 36 years old, his running between the wickets is superb.
Talking about Steve Smith, Ian Chappell said that despite not being in the best of his form, Steve Smith will be the key player in the final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 which Australia will play against India because Steve Smith plays spin better than any other Australian batter of the present team. Ian Chappell also names David Warner as a crucial player if Australia has to win the WC2023.
India and Australia will play against each other tomorrow (19 Nov) in the final which will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
