He said that there was a time when Virat Kohli used to average more than 50 in all the formats which is remarkable performance. He adds that he feels Virat is the best batter of the present era and he likes his attitude as well.

Ian Chappell further added that he heard an interview of Virat Kohli in which he talked about his batting and he has a wonderful approach towards his batting. Ian Chappell also praised Kohli for his fitness and said that despite being 36 years old, his running between the wickets is superb.

Talking about Steve Smith, Ian Chappell said that despite not being in the best of his form, Steve Smith will be the key player in the final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 which Australia will play against India because Steve Smith plays spin better than any other Australian batter of the present team.
