But it has come to the observation now that Indian captain Virat Kohli wanted to declare the innings when he was at 97. He probably thought it was the best decision since the team will have enough time to bowl and take all the wickets of Sri Lanka before the end of 5th day.

However, the coach Ravi Shastri disagreed and told him to continue playing for 20 more runs. A video has been shared by BCCI on Twitter in which we can see the whole scene that how Virat and Ravi Shastri communicated regarding the decision with the help of sign language and the 12th man.

Virat continued playing as told by Ravi Shastri and fixed the target of 231 for Sri Lanka. Great bowling by the team slashed Sri Lanka’s 7 wickets on a mere score of 75. India was about to win but unfortunately, the match ended up as a draw.
