The Indian skipper KL Rahul who is leading the squad in absence of Rohit Sharma promised that the Indian side would play aggressive cricket but he himself played a slow innings of 22 runs (54 balls, 3 fours) and his opening partner Shubman Gill (20 runs, 40 balls, 3 fours) also played in the same manner. While senior batter Cheteshwar Pujara (90 runs, 203 balls, 11 fours) stood his ground strongly, fans were annoyed with the early dismissal of Virat Kohli on the bowling of Taijul Islam. Virat Kohli scored only one run but what hurt fans the most was the fact that first Kohli got confused with the delivery on which he got out bowled by Taijul Islam and then he wasted a DRS by opting for one.

However, here it is important to mention that it was difficult for the batter to understand whether the ball was in the line of the stumps.

As far as India’s first innings is concerned, Shreyas Iyer played a brilliant knock of 86 runs (192 balls, 10 fours) and Rishabh Pant played a quick innings of 46 runs (45 balls, 6 fours & 2 sixes). The tailenders Ravichandran Ashwin (58 runs, 113 balls, 2 fours & 2 sixes) and Kuldeep Yadav (40 runs, 114 balls, 5fours) made useful contributions which helped the Indian team in crossing the 400 mark.

Bangladesh is currently struggling in its first innings as it has already lost its 5 batters on the score of 95. Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj is bowling incredibly as he has taken 3 wickets in 9 overs and has conceded only 14 runs.
