While the picture showed a relaxed and happy Virat Kohli off the field, his professional schedule remains packed. He is set to play for Delhi in their Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Railways on January 6 at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, as confirmed by DDCA president Rohan Jaitley. Even though the BCCI requires contracted players to appear in at least two matches, Virat Kohli has chosen to play a third as part of his preparation for the upcoming home series against New Zealand.

His recent form has been impressive. In his first two matches for Delhi, Kohli scored 131 and 77, showing strong rhythm early in the season. During these innings, he also became the fastest player to reach 16,000 List A runs, achieving the milestone in his 330th innings and surpassing Sachin Tendulkar, who reached it in 391 innings.
As per reports, the Indian ODI squad for the New Zealand series will assemble in Vadodara by January 8, with Virat Kohli possibly arriving a day early to begin training. The three-match ODI series begins at the same venue on January 11.

Meanwhile, earlier updates suggest that Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah will be rested for the ODIs as part of workload management. Both the players are expected to play crucial roles for India in the home T20 World Cup starting February 7.
