Former Indian player and opening batsman Virendra Sehwag opened up about India’s performance in World Cup 2019 and defeat against New Zealand in the semi-final. Sehwag slammed the Indian team management for not promoting MS Dhoni to the top order.
Virat Kohli led team Indian played really well throughout the championship and locked its top spot on the point chart but lost the semi-final match to New Zealand and had to get out of the game.
Sehwag believes that if Dhoni had played before Hardik Pandya the situation could have been reverted. Dhoni comes at 7th position and during the WC semi-final, he came wo bat when the score was 71/5 after 22.5 overs.
The veteran cricketer said that Dhoni should have batted when India needed to build the innings and Pandya should bat at no.7 when India needed to stabilize the innings.
