Vivek Oberoi has always been known for his versatile performances and philanthropic heart. Over the years, he has portrayed a wide range of characters, from romantic leads to intense villains, but what truly defines him is his compassion beyond the screen. His commitment to social causes, especially towards children and healthcare, has often earned him respect as much as his film roles. Now, as he steps into another iconic role in Ramayana, Vivek has once again chosen generosity over personal gain.

Vivek Oberoi is part of Nitesh Tiwari’s much-anticipated Ramayana, which stars Ranbir Kapoor as Shri Ram. The actor will portray Vibhishan, the noble brother of Ravana, played by KGF star Yash.
In a recent interview, Vivek Oberoi revealed that he has decided to donate his entire fee from the film to help children fighting cancer. He shared that when he spoke to producer Namit Malhotra about his decision, he told him he didn’t want any money from the project. Instead, he wanted to contribute his fee to a cause he deeply believes in. Vivek expressed admiration for the team’s vision, saying that he loved how the project aims to take Indian cinema to a global level.
Speaking about the making of the film, Vivek Oberoi said that working with Nitesh Tiwari and the team was a delightful experience. He described it as both enriching and fun, praising his co-stars — Yash, Rakul Preet Singh and others, for their energy and dedication. He also mentioned that he has a few days of shooting left.

Vivek Oberoi strongly believes that Ramayana will mark a milestone for Indian cinema on the world stage. He said that the film is designed to be India’s answer to Hollywood’s grand epics. The project is backed by a company that has already won multiple Oscars for visual effects and Vivek believes that this collaboration will ensure a world-class cinematic experience. According to him, bringing a story so deeply rooted in Indian tradition to global audiences makes Ramayana one of the most ambitious projects ever attempted in Indian cinema.
Reports suggest that the makers have already completed the editing of the first part of the film. According to an entertainment portal, the shooting for Ramayana: Part One wrapped up in June 2025 and the team has now locked the final edit. The next phase involves an extensive 300-day period focused entirely on VFX, ensuring the visual grandeur matches the film’s epic scale.

The stellar cast adds to the excitement. Alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, Sai Pallavi will play Sita, while Sunny Deol and Ravie Dubey will appear as Hanuman and Laxman, respectively. Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh will portray Mandodari and Surpanakha, respectively. The ensemble also includes Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha and Indira Krishnan.
Ramayana is set to release in two parts — Part 1 arriving on Diwali 2026 and Part 2 following on Diwali 2027. Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is certainly shaping up to be a cinematic celebration of faith, artistry and humanity. We are pretty excited about it, what about you?
