Vaibhav Suryavanshi continues to shine as one of Rajasthan Royals’ most promising talents this IPL season. With a blend of fearless stroke play, composure under pressure and a flair for entertainment on and off the field, the young batter has become a fan favourite. His charisma, both with the bat and in banter, shows the making of a future star, someone equally comfortable stealing runs and stealing the banter too.
In a recent video shared by the Royals’ social media team, a humorous interaction between Vaibhav and his teammate Nitish Rana caught fans’ attention. The scene revolved around a seemingly simple request, Vaibhav asking Nitish for a bat. However, what followed was a friendly negotiation filled with witty comebacks and subtle jabs, even bringing the name of cricketing icon Virat Kohli into the mix during their exchange.
Vaibhav, despite being in fine form with his current bat, expressed an interest in using one from Nitish’s collection. Nitish, however, wasn’t willing to give in easily. In a mock-serious tone, he declared that he’d be willing to hand over not one but five bats — on the condition that the total number of bats Vaibhav possessed didn’t exceed 14. Vaibhav, aiming to keep things simple, insisted he only needed one, not five.
Their banter continued as Nitish cheekily reminded Vaibhav that not all decisions would go his way, playfully asserting authority by pointing out that the bats were his and he alone would decide how many to part with. Vaibhav countered with good humour, stating that if he had more bats than his age, he’d gladly give one up if Nitish chose the recipient.
Here is the video which was posted by RR on its official X platform with the caption, “Ek Bihaari Sab Pe Bhaari”.

The friendly tug-of-war over equipment served as a humorous break for the team and fans alike, demonstrating the rapport among players in a season that hasn’t been without its challenges.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals are still grappling with the absence of their captain Sanju Samson who has been sidelined due to a side strain. Head coach Rahul Dravid, speaking earlier this week, confirmed that Sanju Samson’s fitness is being monitored daily. However, the team is in no rush to bring him back before he is fully fit, especially given the critical nature of his role.
Sanju Samson’s ongoing injury has already caused him to miss four matches — against Lucknow Super Giants, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians. The Royals’ loss to Mumbai has all but ended their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs, making the final fixtures more about pride and testing bench strength.
Rajasthan’s next challenge comes on May 4, when they face Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. Whether or not Sanju Samson returns to lead remains uncertain, but with players like Vaibhav Suryavanshi bringing energy and heart to the squad, the Royals remain a team to watch, on and off the pitch.
