As Royal Challengers Bengaluru clinched their first IPL title in 2025, the celebrations were not limited to the stadium. Virat Kohli’s sister, Bhawna Kohli Dhingra, took to Instagram to share her pride and joy. She posted emotional words alongside pictures of her brother from the match, including photos of him with his wife Anushka Sharma. Her message captured the emotional weight of the long-awaited victory, expressing just how much the win meant to the family.
In her heartfelt post, Bhawna wrote, “This night, this moment where we celebrate this dream which made us cry, which made us laugh; but the wait that you did is far too long. Each and every second of the moment needs to be experienced with stillness and a strange calmness that it’s actually done.”
She continued by saying, “All of us can’t express the humility and thankfulness towards almighty and millions of fans who were right behind RCB through thick and thin. This win is everybody’s personal win. Your tears were felt in the eyes of everyone who loves you. We cried with you because you, my little Veeru, are god’s chosen one who brings so much joy and inspiration in everyone. Blessed to witness this, and someone in heaven is smiling in his usual smile, looking at his son making him proud.”

While her post received love from fans, one social media user tried to stir controversy by suggesting that Virat and Anushka never acknowledge Bhawna publicly.
In response, Bhawna remained calm and responded with dignity. She wrote, “May god give you the patience to understand love can exist in many ways, which is not necessarily shown to the world, but it’s still there, like the love for almighty. Hope you have enough love in your life, no insecurities, only true bonds which don’t need any validation. God bless you.” Her reply quickly gained attention online and many fans praised her for handling the comment with maturity and grace.
Meanwhile, Virat and Anushka were seen celebrating with the rest of the RCB squad during the team’s victory parade in Bengaluru. Anushka shared glimpses of the celebration as she rode alongside Virat through the cheering crowds. However, the joy was overshadowed by a tragic incident that occurred the same day. A stampede-like situation outside M. Chinnaswamy Stadium led to the de*th of at least 11 people and left over 30 injured. Fans had gathered in overwhelming numbers for a felicitation event organised to honour the players after their historic win against Punjab Kings.
The celebrations were intended to be a joyful end to RCB’s long IPL journey but they ended on a somber and heartbreaking note.
