What? Markandey Katju Bid Goodbye To Facebook?

The retired Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju falls in to the category of those people who you may or may not like but you want them around. The former judge has been very active in the social media networks and no doubt his online post sometimes make people angry while at other times, bring a smile on people’s faces.

However on Tuesday night, this dynamic 70 year old former judge posted something which shocked almost the whole online community. Here is what he posted:

“Probably this is going to be my last Facebook post.”

“I am a man of 70 and have very few years more to live.

I tried to pass on all my knowledge I acquired in my life to you, so that you may benefit. This knowledge I acquired from my gurus, before whom I stood with folded hands for decades before they gave me that knowledge. But what did I get in return? I got mostly abuses from most of you, because most of you are stupid and arrogant, and have no desire to learn.

I am sorry I even tried to teach you. So, goodbye.”

It was obvious that this post was shared a lot and many requested him to reconsider his decision and stay while some were happy and confused as to what let the old man take this decision.

It seems as if the former judge has taken the screenshot and then uploaded the image on Twitter with a message which reads “Goodbye”.

Although, nothing was specified by him whether he has bid goodbye to Twitter as well or he is leaving just Facebook.

However, the next morning, the post was deleted from the Facebook and what left on Twitter was just a reminder.

May be this was his way to explain; he pinned an old tweet of January 19 on the top of his profile. The tweet read, “Time to stop” and a Facebook post was enclosed which expressed his displeasure and he concluded with these words:

Nothing is yet clear whether he will write posts as per the changing circumstances or he has said goodbye forever.

This is how Twitter reacted over the matter:

@mkatju आपने कठिन परिश्रम से अपना ज्ञान बाँटा। भविष्य में कम ब्लॉग पोस्ट लिखें लेकिन हमारा मार्गदर्शन करते रहे ताकि भारत का कल्याण हो.
