WhatsApp is the most popular instant messaging app in the world, it can be used to send things like text messages, images, video, audio messages – or even to place a Wi-Fi call to a friend. It has one billion active users, it handles 42 billion messages a day and 250 million videos. Facebook acquired it in 2014.
Now this Facebook-owned WhatsApp has come up with an annoying update, which surely seems to be annoying everyone who uses this application. We all know how frustrating WhatsApp groups can be, how useless and time consuming the group notifications are. And this new feature is going to make everything far more worse.
The latest update of WhatsApp will allow the users to tag other users in a WhatsApp group. This tagging feature will result in the tagged users getting notifications about group chats. Even if you have muted the notifications, it’s not going to help.
To tag someone, users have to type in @, following which the names of the group members will pop up. They can select the people that have to be tagged. A user can also select multiple users to tag and all of them will be notified. This feature also allows a user to tag people who are not in a user’s contact list, but are part of a WhatsApp group.
WhatsApp is getting additional features like stickers and ability to write on images!
Now the users can write on images like Snapchat. Whenever a user clicks a picture now, they will see additional editing tools that will allow them to draw and scribble on top of the picture in different colors. Selecting the pencil and ‘T’ icon to edit a picture.
The latest update also brings enhancements to the app’s camera flash.
Now the users can click better selfies in low-light and dark conditions. All you have to do is click pictures from the built-in camera app itself.
In order to try out WhatsApp’s new features, go to Google Play Store’s webpage for the app and tap the ‘Become a Tester’ button. Then go to the Google Play Store app and search for the latest WhatsApp version and install it.
