Just a few days back there were reports about WhatsApp rolling out a new feature that will allow users to add 3 more people to a video call.
Well, that feature was still in Beta version and now we’ve learnt that another great feature is all set to be launched. WhatsApp which is currently the most popular instant messaging app is all set to compete in the digital transactions sector.
As per the fresh reports, WhatsApp is currently testing its all-new digital payment transfer and receiving feature. This is yet another feature by WhatsApp i.e. currently in beta version but is expected to be launched soon.
The payment feature is based on the UPI platform and WhatsApp has partnered with some brands for the facility.
The feature can be used in a chat window through the Attachments menu. The option is reportedly available along with other options such as Gallery, Video, Documents etc. When you click on Payments, it will open a disclaimer window, followed by a list of banks to choose from.
From here you have to select the bank account to connect with UPI. You will be asked to create an authentication pin if you haven’t yet used the UPI payments platform. Additionally, you will have to create a UPI account (if you don’t have one previously) through the UPI app or your respective bank’s website/ app.
Isn’t that amazing?
