The Indian singer Arijit Singh has sung a song, “Leke Prabhu Ka Naam” for Salman Khan’s upcoming movie “Tiger 3” but the singer had to wait for a long time for singing his first song for the “Wanted” actor.
Salman got angry with Arijit Singh during an awards function in 2014 after the latter took a dig at the former’s hosting skills. Salman Khan and Riteish Deshmukh were hosting an awards function and Arijit Singh was called on stage as he was the winner of an award but he was dressed very casually and also seemed sleepy. After seeing him like this, Salman mocked Arijit and in response, the singer said that their hosting made him sleep.
After that, Arijit’s songs from Salman’s movie such as “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”, “Sultan” and “Kick” were removed and he didn’t get a chance to sing for Salman after that.
In 2016, in an interview, Arijit Singh revealed his side of the story. He said that he fell asleep because he was tired of work as he was working on Pritam’s song and awards functions are very tiring as they go on for many hours. He said that someone had to wake him up when his name was announced. He further stated that he knew it was wrong but he was very tired that day. Arijit added that the photographers started clicking him in casuals and slippers and then Salman also made fun of him. Arijit said that when he went on the stage, Salman asked him whether he fell asleep and then Arijit got nervous and said that they made him sleep.
Arijt said that he bit his tongue after saying this because he knew he made a mistake and then he also whispered “Sorry” in Salman Khan’s ears while taking the award. Arijit further said that when he came down, he was not able to find his seat so he started walking out and when Salman saw him leaving, he said on mic that this guy came in chappals to take his award and now he is leaving because of which Arijit got scared and he had no idea what to do.
Arijit further added that in the flight, he thought about the incident and felt sorry for what he did. After reaching Kolkata, he sent a text message to Salman and apologized and in response, Salman asked him not to go so casually in awards functions and also not to disrespect the awards. Arijit said that he was happy because Salman scolded him as a senior and it must have made his anger go out but he (Arijit) didn’t know that Salman was still angry.
The good thing is that they have patched up finally and we may get to hear Arijit Singh singing more for Salman Khan.
