Will Malajczuk brought up his hundred in just 51 deliveries, reaching the landmark in the 13.5th over. In the process, he surpassed the previous Under-19 World Cup record held by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi who had reached his century in 52 balls. While Pakistan’s Sameer Minhas still holds the overall Youth ODI record with a 42-ball hundred, Will Malajczuk’s effort now stands as the quickest in Under-19 World Cup history.

Opening the batting with Nitesh Samuel, Will Malajczuk helped put together a dominant 135-run partnership in just 15.3 overs before being dismissed while attempting another attacking shot.

Earlier, Japan had posted 201 for eight, largely due to a gritty unbeaten 79 off 135 balls from Hugo Tani-Kelly. Despite that effort, Will Malajczuk’s brilliance ensured the match belonged firmly to Australia.
