Wipro IT Manager Shreya Ukil Says She Was Forced Into Sleeping With Her Boss - RVCJ Media

A former female employee of Wipro has filed a case against the IT Gaint asking for a compensation of 1 million Pounds, she has charged the organization for gender discrimination, unequal remuneration, harassment and unfair dismissal.

Shreya Ukil, 39 years old, has worked with Wipro as Sales and Marketing Manager in UK, told the Telegraph that she was made to work in “deeply predatory, misogynistic culture” at Wipro. She has filed her complaint in Central London Employment Tribunal for gender discrimination and equal salary claim and she has also accused the organization for compelling her to indulge in an affair with Manoj Punja, who was Senior VP and global BPO head at that time, presently Manoj is not working in Wipro as he left the organization, last year.

Manoj Punja, presently working with Bengaluru-based IT firm Microland, in the capacity of Executive Vice President for Global Sales, Solutions and Client Services. Manoj was the CEO of BPO Business in Wipro since 2012, before that he worked as Chief Sales & Operations Officer for Latin America, Africa, France, Germany and Canada.

Shreya alleged that she was compelled to have an affair with her boss and the environment in Wipro for lady employees was “toxic.” Telegraph quoted her, “The culture within Wipro requires women to be subservient.” She also alleged that Manoj made “aggressive sexual advances” and she accused him “abuse of power” also.

Shreya told that when she ended the affair and filed a complaint about the treatment meted to her, she was treated as “dirty goods”. Shreya also claimed that when she was getting paid 75000 pounds only, her male counterparts were getting paid 150000 pounds as remuneration.
