An unfortunate driver of 40 became a victim to a lady who was in the process to learn driving. She trampled him, turning out to be the cause of his demise on Wednesday morning at Rajouri Garden of Delhi.
Subsequent to crushing him, she dragged the man for about 20 feet prior to at last striking an already parked car as well as squashing that guy in the middle of two cars. The lady got detained by the cop.
Police investigated the case and said that he was going for work and she stroked him from back. In the words of DCP, Pushpendra Kumar, “The car was being driven by Manisha Grover, who was learning, with her husband by her side. After the incident, the duo rushed Pramod to a hospital.”
According to an officer, “Grover and her husband fled the spot as the condition of the victim deteriorated” from the fear of being arrested.
Further, he said, “The initial lead was provided to us by the CCTV footage of DDU hospital. It showed the victim being brought in by a woman and a man in a silver coloured Wagon R Car.”
A handloom shop’s CCTV camera recorded the whole accident. Kumar maintains, “The footage showed the man, half stuck under the car trying to walk through his hands, being dragged by the same car. The accused were arrested on Thursday morning based on the same video.”
An FIR against the woman had been lodged for rash driving and death caused by carelessness but culprits became successful in getting bail that very day.
As per an officer, “On Wednesday, she lost control of the car suddenly and hit Pramod, who was passing by. Being a new driver, the woman panicked and instead of applying the brakes, she accelerated.”
