Chak De India released in 2007 was no doubt a special movie, not just because it had Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role but also on account of the 16 girls in the role of Indian national hockey team’s players and the story beautifully presented their rise from under-performers to winners.

One of those beautiful girls was Anaitha Nair or rather we should call her with the name with which she is more popular, Aliya Bose. The character of Aliya was hip and happening, lively, cheerful, her coloured hair make a fashion statement and she was kind of a rebel who won’t be controlled until and unless she wants to keep a low profile.

Anaitha is born to a Malyali father and a Parsi mother, and she has worked in some Malyali movies like By the People (2005) and IG (2009). She has also played the role of Bindiya in Mumbai Calling which is a British-Indian comedy series and she also brilliantly portrayed the character of a cancer patient in Nagesh Kukunoor’s Aashayein.
