Victory of West Indies in the World Cup T20 has shut the mouth of haters and critics and Marlon Samuels who has been revered with the title of Man Of The Match has dedicated the victory to Shane Warne.
Marlon made sure that his team takes the World Cup home by playing a wonderful innings of 85 runs. He was on the target list of legendary leg-spinner Shane Warne for quite a good time now but he answered him in the presentation ceremony which held on Sunday by devoting him his performance. This is what he said, “This is for Shane Warne.”
Apart from Marlon Samuels, WI Skipper Darren Sammy also gave credit to new manager as well as support staff. At the end of post-match interview, Darren opened up about his extreme disappointment with WI Cricket Board.
In his words, “People were wondering if we would play this tournament, we had issues with the board, Mark Nicholas called us players with no brains. But all of us came together; these 15 men put adversity aside, played this type of cricket in front of such passionate fans. It was tremendous. I want to thank the coaching team and Phil Simmons. We had a new manager in this tournament who took pains and got us our kits, and I am extremely disappointed with the WICB.”
