The Indian team has been superb in all the segments in this World Cup whether it’s batting, bowling or fielding. The senior Indian pacer Mohammed Shami has also played an important role in India’s success journey till now and hopes from him are pretty high. Shami was initially not a part of the playing eleven but he was included in the squad after Hardik Pandya got injured in the match against Bangladesh and since then, he hasn’t looked back.

Mohammed Shami is the highest wicket taker of the tournament with 23 wickets, that too when he has played only 6 matches out of 10. Besides this, he has also become the fastest to take 50 wickets in the ODI World Cup and he has done that in the lowest number of matches (17). In the semi-final against New Zealand, Mohammed Shami was literally on fire as he took 7 wickets for 57 runs which is also his best match figures in ODIs.

While speaking to a sports portal, Mohammed Shami shed some light on his mindset while bowling. He stated that first, he observes what the situation is, how the pitch and ball are behaving and whether the ball is swinging or not.

He further adds that if the ball is not swinging, his focus is on bowling from stump to stump and he tries to throw ball at those spots where it can get edge of the bats as the batters try to play drives.

Well, every Indian cricket fan is hoping to see Mohammed Shami repeating his performance of the semi-final in the finals as well.

Best of luck team India!
