There is no denying the fact that Disha Patani is damn hot and gorgeous but worshipping her is something which seems to go overboard. And it’s indeed a matter of great surprise that single boys of Hindu College, Delhi, might actually have done it on this Valentine’s Day. They were going to perform puja and worship Disha as they wanted to get rid of their virginity.
Regardless of how weird it may seem, it is absolutely true. Every year, on Valentine’s Day, single boys of Hindu College select an actress who is given the title of Damdami Mai and then a puja is performed on the virgin tree which is situated inside the campus of the college.
A second year student and hosteller, Vaibhav Singh, told TOI,
“The second and third-year hostellers have chosen her (Disha). We picked her after having a meeting. Along with Disha, one name that was also considered was of Nargis Fakhri, but since most of the guys liked Disha, we have chosen her as our Damdami Mai.”
Vaibhav also explained the process of selecting the actress and the puja. In his words,
“Damdami Mai is usually the actress who has been popular in that particular year, and who is also voted for by the most hostellers. Like always, we will have the puja on the morning of February 14. And a fresher will perform the puja as he will be the pandit for that day. As always, condoms will be used to decorate the Virgin Tree.”
This weird ritual is performed every year as there is a belief that the single boys who take part in the puja will get partner within the next six months and they will lose their virginity within one year.
