Recently, Yashasvi Jaiswal missed out on a spot in India’s 15-member squad for the Asia Cup in the UAE. Instead, he was named among the standby players, a decision influenced by team combinations and the return of Shubman Gill who not only made the cut but was also appointed vice-captain. This shuffle also pushed Sanju Samson further down the batting order. Despite this setback, Yashasvi Jaiswal has chosen not to dwell on it, saying that such calls are in the hands of selectors and all he can do is keep working hard until his opportunity comes again.

In 23 matches, he has scored 723 runs at an average of 36.15 and a strike rate of over 164, making him one of the most exciting young batters in the format.
