Deepika Padukone and Salman Khan have long been among the most admired stars of Bollywood, each commanding massive fan bases and impressive career graph.
Despite their parallel journeys in the industry, the two have never shared screen space. However, fans did get to see them together at the time of movie promotions and during one such instance, fans got the delightful glimpse of their chemistry during a memorable episode of Bigg Boss while Deepika was promoting her film Tamasha.
In a playful and spontaneous moment, Deepika dropped to one knee during the show and jokingly proposed to Salman Khan, saying she wanted to marry him. The lighthearted move caught Salman off guard, leaving him smiling and blushing. He responded with a laugh, politely declining by saying that whether it’s Deepika or anyone else, it just would not be possible (“Deepika ho ya koi bhi ho, ye nahi ho sakta.”). This candid exchange quickly became a fan-favourite moment and continues to make waves on social media.
While their friendly interaction remains an entertaining highlight for fans, both the actors are now immersed in ambitious projects.
Deepika Padukone is set to appear in the tentatively titled AA22xA6, directed by Atlee and starring Allu Arjun. A puja ceremony recently marked the beginning of principal photography, though it is yet to be confirmed when Deepika will begin shooting. Mrunal Thakur has also joined the cast for the initial schedule. A behind-the-scenes video released by the makers featured Deepika discussing the script with Atlee and preparing for her role, hinting at an action-packed performance. The production team praised her in the clip’s caption as a “queen” ready to “conquer”, indicating a powerful on-screen transformation.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan is preparing for his next venture after Sikandar. After several meetings with directors like Ali Abbas Zafar, Kabir Khan and Raaj Shandilyaa, he has reportedly finalised collaboration with Apoorva Lakhia. The upcoming film is an army-based action thriller, inspired by the novel India’s Most Fearless 3 and will be set during the 2020 Galwan Valley Conflict.
As per sources, Salman Khan will portray an army officer in a full-fledged role for the first time in his career. Filming is expected to begin in July 2025, spanning 70 days across Ladakh and Mumbai. He will be joined by three younger-generation actors and the story will unfold over two intense nights.
While fans may still await proper film collaboration between Deepika and Salman, their individual cinematic paths continue to offer plenty of excitement and anticipation.
