A familiar face in a new jersey created one of the biggest talking points in the IPL as Ravindra Jadeja made a memorable return to Rajasthan Royals after nearly two decades. Once called a “Rockstar” early in his career, Ravindra Jadeja stepped onto the field again for his original franchise and the moment became even more special as it came against Chennai Super Kings, the side he represented for around 12 years.
Ravindra Jadeja did not take long to make an impact. Delivering a strong bowling performance, he picked up 2 wickets for just 18 runs in three overs, helping restrict Chennai Super Kings to 127 all out. Rajasthan Royals then chased down the target comfortably, securing an eight-wicket victory and marking a perfect start to his second stint with the team.
Off the field, Ravindra Jadeja seemed relaxed and happy in his new environment. He joked about enjoying the pink jersey, hinting that the yellow one he wore for years had started to feel a bit old, though he said it in a light-hearted way.
Despite the cheerful tone, he admitted that leaving Chennai Super Kings was not easy. Having spent over a decade with the franchise, the move was emotional for him. However, he accepted that such changes are a natural part of a cricketer’s journey. He also found comfort in returning to Rajasthan Royals, the team where his IPL story began and where he first tasted success.
Ravindra Jadeja was part of the Rajasthan Royals squad that won the inaugural IPL title in 2008, a memory that still holds a special place for him. Now, as a seasoned player, he returns not just to perform but also to guide younger teammates. He shared that those early memories continue to inspire him and he carries them with a positive mindset.
At this stage of his career, Ravindra Jadeja is focused on both learning and contributing. He wants to grow with the new group while also sharing his experience to help the team succeed, making his return not just nostalgic but meaningful as well.
