The honorable Health minister of Haryana, Anil Vij was in attendance at a District Grievances and Public Relations Committee meeting in Fatehabad along with the Superintened police chief of the district and other high-profile civil workers. The minister was though talking about the illegal multiple sale points of liquor in the village and what is the role police is playing in controlling the trade.
The SP Sangeeta Kalia, Deputy Commissioner (DC) NK Solanki and ADC Rajesh Jogpal were present while the discussion took place. Reportedly, Anil Vij asked SP about the reports, to which she promptly replied, and updated the minister that 2,500 cases had been registered under the Excise Act in the past 10 months, “which was a record”. But as the tantrums go, the Minister wasn’t satisfied with the response. (We guess, he was trying to pull a Nayak act), so he got agitated and immediately dismissed the SP, asking her to “get out” of the meeting. However, Sangeeta did not leave, rather questioned his behavior, after all “she was not in the wrong, and objected to the minister’s conduct”.

But instead of slowing down, Anil Vij ordered her again to leave, which she again disoblige, to which the minister walked out and other minister followed the suit.
We just hope the case would have ended here, but no. This is India, and what is the use if you have power and don’t mis-utilize it.
Bang on this morning, and the SP Sangeeta Kalia has been ordered with a transfer letter, because she stood by her integrity and honesty.
As per reports, Vij also said that he will take the matter to Chief Minister notice and alleged that the police were involved in getting illicit liquor sold. But as per the police, Vij made “indecent” remarks , even though the police brought to minister’s notice that many cases has been registered towards Excise and Taxation Department.
Even after all these, Vij made a remark that “”I will not attend the meeting till this SP is there in the district.”
