Sandeep Reddy Vanga directed “Animal” may be one of the highest earning movies of the year 2023 but it also earned a lot of flak as many felt that such a toxic and problematic film is not good for the society. Many Bollywood celebs including Kangana Ranaut, Kiran Rao, Javed Akhtar, etc. have slammed “Animal” and the director but Sandeep Reddy Vanga has not only defended his movie but he has also tried to give a strong response to his critics.
Recently, Javed Akhtar attended an event in which he referred to a scene from the “Animal” movie which featured Ranbir Kapoor and Tripti Dimri and in this scene, Ranbir asks Tripti to lick his shoe. Javed Akhtar said that if there is such scene in a movie and the movie is super hit, then it is really dangerous for the society.
In an interview, Sandeep Reddy Vanga reacted to Javed Akhtar’s statement. Sandeep said that it is quite clear with Javed Akhtar’s comment that he hasn’t watched the movie and what he (the director) can say about those people who are making comments on the movie without watching it. Sandeep Reddy Vanga stated that obviously he feels bad when people make comments without watching the movie and why they are throwing stones at the piece of art without checking their surrounding first.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga also questioned Javed Akhtar for not telling the same thing to his son Farhan Akhtar as a good number of abusive words is used in web series, Mirzapur which is produced by Farhan Akhtar. Sandeep further said that he hasn’t watched the whole show, the show was also translated into Telugu and if someone watches it, he will feel like puking. Vanga further asks why Javed Akhar is not checking his own son’s work.
