Indisputably, Aamir Khan’s “Thugs Of Hindostan” is one of the most awaited Bollywood movies. For long, makers were on a hunt for the female lead and it was reported that names of Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vaani Kapoor had been suggested. However, all the doubts and rumors were laid to rest at the moment when the announcement of Fatima Sana Shaikh as the film’s female lead actress was made last week by the makers.
Director Vijay Krishna Acharya stated,
“The role of the girl is pivotal to the film so it was crucial for us to find the perfect fit. Through a rigorous round of auditions and action workshops, we found in Fatima a truly dedicated actor and a gifted performer of the action. We are very happy to have found the perfect girl for our film.”
However, DNA recently revealed the very shocking reason behind selecting Fatima for the role and here’s what the source revealed,
“Nobody was surprised when Fatima Sana Sheikh was signed opposite Aamir Khan in Thugs Of Hindostan. While a few top actresses including Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and even Vaani Kapoor were in talks to do the film, most of them, save Vaani, weren’t so keen once they heard the fee for the film, especially when Aamir was being given his market price and more. The actresses had loved the script as it revolved around the female protagonist taking revenge but the talks fizzled out when they realised that Aditya Chopra wanted them to sign the film almost for free. There was a discussion whether Vaani or Fatima suited the role better — the latter was Aamir’s choice and the former Adi’s. Eventually, Aamir had his way.”
Isn’t it upsetting that the makers don’t want to spend on the film’s actress despite the fact that she will have a significant part in the flick just for reducing the cost of production?
