State assembly elections 2017 have been full of ups and downs for the political parties with a number of twists which appeared to be eye-popping at the first sight and hilarious at the other. For instance, alliance of Congress and Samajwadi Party; both the parties had high expectations from the so-called ‘gathbandhan’ and they showed it as the unbreakable Jodi of Sholay’s Jai and Veeru who can make even the impossible possible!
Needless to say, this alliance was the result of the fear which both the parties had for BJP in the elections and their nightmare seems to be true, as there are chances of BJP winning the elections in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, as BJP is leading in UP with 300+ seats and in UK with 50+ seats. Undeniably, BJP has worked really hard to win the elections in both the states. As far as Congress is concerned, it’s leading in Punjab with 70+ seats.
