Yuva Sena Leaders Asked BMC Commissioner To File Rs 500 Crore Suit Against RJ Malishka

The rainy season is not a good time for Mumbai as roads are filled with water and the local trains which are also called the lifeline of Mumbai get affected to a large extent. This not only troubles citizens but also aggravates them in view of the fact that even after paying taxes, they are not getting better facilities.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is responsible for looking after the drainage system and cleanliness of the city. Just recently, a local private radio channel made a video in which BMC was mocked and blamed for all the inconvenience caused to public.

On Tuesday, two members of Yuva Sena requested the municipal commissioner to file a case of defamation against 93.5 Red FM worth Rs. 500 crore.

These two leaders are Samadhan Sarvankar, son of Shiv Sena legislator Sada Sarvankar, and Amey Ghole who is also a corporator. They both have claimed that RJ Malishka has wrongly blamed BMC as the problems that she is talking about are out of BMC’s jurisdiction.

A letter has been submitted by them to Ajoy Mehta, BMC Commissioner, alleging that the video has tarnished the image of BMC and Mumbai as well as disheartened thousands of BMC employees who are working hard to make sure that citizens don’t face problems in the rainy season.

The corporator from Wadala, Amey Ghole, said,

“The BMC’s legal department will decide what action is best suited in this case. The song has hurt the city’s efforts at attracting foreign investment and global talent. The civic body can either file a defamation suit or issue a warning.”

Here’s what Sarvankar stated,

“The song did not name the Shiv Sena directly, but it hurts us that Mumbai’s and the BMC’s image is unnecessarily taking a hit. The two main highways of Mumbai don’t come under the BMC and it is not responsible for Mumbai’s traffic or the functioning of its railways.”

Sarvankar also adds that the BMC commissioner has assured them of taking an appropriate action.
