Subhash Chandra, the Essel Group Chairman and Rajya Sabha MP, had stated that Zee News and all other media outlets related to it wouldn’t cover the India-Pakistan match in ICC Champions Trophy as a respect to Armed Forces of India.
Yes, he had said that none of their news channels, apps, portals or newspaper will cover the match between India-Pakistan. According to him, it would be better to show the stories of real heroes i.e. jawans instead of covering such matches and cheering for our team.
Subhash Chandra had posted a series of tweets in which he had said that on one hand Pakistani actors are being banned in India and on the other hand, a cricket match is being played with them.
Here’s what he had tweeted on the 4th of June;

Yesterday, India defeated Bangladesh and entered the finals with Pakistan. Once again, Zee News didn’t cover any news about India-Pakistan finals. While all the media houses were busy reporting about the BIG match on the 18th of June, Zee News was least bothered. Would they report about this match at least on the 18th of June?
