Let’s remind some facts about leap year we studied in our Grade 3. It comes after every four years, it has 365+1 days in a year, and 29 Feb is called the Leap Day, BLAH. That is it? Here are few less known interesting facts about leap year that will blow your mind-
1. Leap Years are the only years where January 1st and December 31st are on different days of the week.
2. Women are traditionally expected to propose to men on Leap Day.
3. About 4 million people in the world have been born on February 29th.
4. Egyptians introduced the concept of adding a leap year in the calendar.
5. In Greece, getting married in a leap year is considered unlucky.
6. One in 1461 person is born on Leap Day.
7. Those born on Leap Day are considered “Leaplings”.
8. February 29 also marks as the ‘Rare Disease Day’.
9. The frog is a symbol related with Leap Year.
10. And Disneyland remains open for 24 hours on Leap Day.
