In a little surprising but pleasant incident, a Muslim girl of 13 years topped the Ramayana exam by scoring 93% in Karnataka. We are talking about Fathimath Rohila who belongs to the Puttur district and studies in Sarvodaya High School.
Bharatha Sanskriti Prathisthan organized this Ramayana exam in November 2015 and 39 students participated in it. However, the important point to keep in mind is that there was no religious content in this exam and it was all about literature. Fathimath has great interest in literature and after topping the Ramayana exam, she is preparing to repeat the result in Mahabharata exam.
Last year as well, a 12 years old Muslim girl, Marryam Siddiqui, topped the Gita Champions League which was contested by ISKCON. This class VI student of Cosmopolitan High School won the contest by defining and explaining the teachings of Gita in the most excellent method available. The contest was conducted in January 2015 and nearly 3000 students participated in it.
