15 Indians Arrested As They Celebrated Pakistan’s Win In Champions Trophy!

Controversies have been on the rise ever since Pakistan defeated India in the Champions Trophy 2017; however, another controversial incident was reported in Madhya Pradesh.

Police has arrested 15 youngsters (Indian Muslims) in MP because they celebrated Pakistan’s win by bursting firecrackers. They were arrested on the charges of sedition; these youngsters were from Burhanpur district and today, they were produced before the court.

Ajay Sharma, ADG Indore, said that the complaint was filed at Shahpur police station by Subhash Laxman Koli , a resident of Burhanpur district ; he said that the youngsters were not only bursting crackers but were also raising slogans in favor of Pakistan.

According to the reports, the complainant said, “Crackers were being burst close to homes of people belonging to the majority community.” As soon as the police officials received this complaint, they booked them under section 120B (Criminal conspiracy) and 124 (Sedition) of the IPC. Moreover, the security was immediately stepped up.

A police official also said that the charges were invoked on the youngsters not for taking side of a particular team in the game, but for raising anti-India and pro-Pakistani slogans.

Today, the court rejected their bail applications and they are sent to jail. It is due to such incidents that communal tension rises.
