1. Kumar was born in Delhi, India to Hari Om Bhatia who was a military officer and Aruna Bhatia.
3. He obtained a black belt in Taekwondo while in India, which inspired him to study martial arts in Bangkok, Thailand. While in Bangkok, he learned Muay Thai and worked as a chef and waiter.
6. He did several odd jobs to pave his way in Bollywood. He even worked in Kolkata as a peon of travel agency and sometimes worked as a background dancer in several movies.
7. Once his uncle got him job at Metro Guest House where his first salary was 1000 baht which means it was Rs 1,500. Akshay says, he would sleep in the kitchen at night.
11. Did you know Akshay Kumar’s movie Boss entered the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest poster? Yes, the poster entered Guinness world record after beating Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It’ and later the record was broken by Bahubali : The Beginning.

17. In 2011, Akshay Kumar launched a production house called Grazing Goats with the intention to support low budget films. The production house successfully produced 5 films OMG – Oh My God!, 72 Miles, Bhaji in Problem, Fugly and Singh is Bling.
18. As of 2013, Akshay has been Hindi film industry’s highest advance taxpayer for six consecutive years. He paid ₹19 crore (US$2.9 million) as advance tax payment in that year.
