On one hand the Indian government is trying its best to strive forward on the path of development and on the other, a few institutes have blindfoldedly wasted years of many students’ life. In a recent development, The University Grants Commission (UGC) has stated that there are 23 fake universities and 279 fake technical institutes.
To explain it further, we can say that these institutes do not have any right to issue an educational degree. A degree issued by these universities and institutes is nothing more than a piece of well-printed paper.
Delhi reportedly has the highest number of fake colleges and also has a sizable number of fake universities. The other states that have a large number of fake institutes include Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Maharashtra.
This is how the UGC chalked out the list and what actions will be taken against the reported fake universities and institutes.
The UGC and AICTE (All India Council For Technical Education) in their annual review came up with a list of fake institutes and universities on their website to warn the students ahead of the upcoming academic session.
To disclose the matter publicly, an official stated, “We send the list of unapproved and unregulated technical institutions to concerned state authorities for taking appropriate action against such institutions.”
The minister of state for human resource development, Mahendra Nath Pandey, stated that the ministry had reported the issue to the concerned state governments and also requested them to investigate the matter and register police case against the fake universities.
