The world seems to have been characterized with more than necessary use of technology, a major product of which is the Internet that is no less than an addiction for the present generation. That’s why, we can see that people now-a-days are so busy in their social life that they hardly pay attention to what’s happening in their locality or who’s in their neighborhood.
Likes and shares on one’s post decide the person’s popularity while comments and online chats have taken the place of real conversations. However, no one had ever thought that this all would increase to such an extent that there would be no existence of humanity.
Few days back, five teenagers met an extremely deadly accident in which four lost their lives while the remaining one is badly wounded. Just after some minutes of the accident, gruesome pics from the spot went viral on the web and social media with thousands of shares and miserably, humanity silently died meanwhile.
People present there didn’t realize that they had to save those teenagers who were in a pitiable condition.
If they hospitalized the victims in place of clicking photos, probably few of them had been alive.
In which era are we living? Has humanity stopped existing?
Highly insensitive and shameful act!
Asavari Bhardwaj, sister of a victim, explained what all was wrong here in a Facebook post. According to her, “Everyone at the site was clicking pictures and making videos and posting on social media. But not a single human came to help her.”
Below is her full post:
“On the 6th of January, my family got the biggest shock of our life. My lil sister (mamaji’s daughter) along with 3 other kids, lost their lives in a major car accident. The accident took place in ludhiana. I really don’t have words to describe the grief. But what makes it worse is that people and media have all kinds of things to talk about. People are so insensitive that they left my sister helpless breathing her last breaths calling for ma. Everyone at the site where clicking pictures and making videos and posting on social media. But not a single human came to help her. No one. If she would have got help on time, she would have been alive today. But well our lives are being governed by social media. Likes and shares are more important to us. I urge everyone to please teach their kids to drive safe and please please help the people in need. Also try and not make up stories about things. We must comfort the ones who have lost their loves ones not put them through more pain. Please. We can save each other if we try. Thank you. Rest in peace rishu. We will miss you and we love you always.”
Is this the world we are living in? What are we going to teach the coming generations? Had onlookers done the same if one of them was their own blood? It’s everyone’s responsibility to take the required actions to save a life, isn’t it?
