4-Year Delhi Boy Booked On The Charges Of Raping Classmate, Doctor Confirmed Sexual Assault

Delhi police is in a state of confusion because they don’t know how to deal with a rape case as the accused is just a four-and-a-half-year-old boy. The complaint has been lodged by the mother of the victim (same age group). She told that her daughter was physically assaulted by the boy who used his fingers and sharpen pencil in her private parts. All this happened in the classroom as well as washroom.

The girl’s mother demanded that the boy should be expelled from the school but the school has informed her that his section has been changed. She is not assured about the safety of her daughter and now she wants to take out her girl from the school.

Police is practicing “utmost sensitivity” as the accused in question is a child. Spokesperson of Delhi police, Dependra Pathak, said,

“The boy is being counselled by an NGO.”

Police has booked the boy under the charges of rape but it is studying the legal procedure as,

“The Indian Penal Code provides children below seven years of age certain protection against prosecution”.

The girl’s mother has issued a statement in which she has asked the school authorities to fire the principal along with the teacher and the counsellor. She also demanded them to issue a public apology on social media site Facebook and pay her back the school fees of two years with interest.

Here’s what the girl’s mother said,

“In the classroom, there was no teacher when the assault happened. In the washroom, the ayah (helper) was not around.”

The girl’s mother told that on Saturday, her daughter told everything to the policemen, adding that there was no teacher in the classroom at that time. She accused the school of not taking the matter seriously and instead asking her to submit in writing the whole matter on Monday.

The victim’s parents filed the complaint only after the doctors at Rockland hospital confirmed that their daughter has been sexually assaulted.

The advocate of the school said that the girl didn’t tell about the incident to any school teacher on the day when it all happened.

On the other hand, doctor Samir Parikh, director, department of mental health and behavioural sciences, Fortis Healthcare says,

“We must understand that it is absolutely not possible for a four-year-old to understand sexual behaviour. Is there a possibility of a sexual need being fulfilled in his case? Absolutely not. It may be at best described as imitation or copy-cat behaviour – the child saw something similar happening, perhaps on television or on a mobile phone, got inquisitive and went ahead and replicated the action. It is like replicating any other adult action without realising the repercussions”

He further says,

“He himself may have been assaulted and could have been repeating the act.|

Police will investigate the case and watch the CCTV footage to see whether the school has been negligent or not. Pathak said,

“The footage will be able to tell us if there was any staff in the classroom or washroom when the crime happened.”
