What’s more shocking is that these teachers are indulging in such shameful acts despite the fact that both of them are married and have children.

As per the district education officials, the girl student was offered a rose by Nirmal in class in front of other students and he also expressed his love. The girl didn’t accept the rose and ignored the teacher after the incident. Then Nirmal asked Lawrence to help him and convince the girl to say yes to his proposal.

Lawrence called the girl and tried to convince her but she didn’t agree. He threatened her that she might not complete her studies if she didn’t accept the proposal or tells anyone about it. She didn’t bow down to the pressure but she was indeed sad and upset.

When the girl’s parents saw her crying, they asked her about the reason and she told the whole incident. Angry parents with their relatives protested in front of school premises and demanded arrest of both the teachers.

They filed a complaint with police and another one with district education officials too. A district-level education officer told,

“The education department on Monday ordered a probe into the incident and placed secondary grade teacher (Nirmal) and physical education teacher (Lawrence) under suspension pending inquiries.”

The complaint was filed with Kallakuruchi all-woman police and Nirmal has been charged under sections 11 (sexual harassment) and 12 (punishment for sexual harassment) while Lawrence has been charged under Section 17 (punishment for abetment) of the POCSO act. Both the teachers have been sent to judicial custody by the magistrate.

They should be given severe punishment for their shameless act so that no one else can dare to repeat it. What do you say?
